Mods
Rover nightfire red
Smoothed and colour coded
TT front and rear seats
FK Konisport coilovers

Other than that it was basically standard...since then there have been a lot of changes and more to come as well

Its not everyones cup of tea but the smoothed bay will give me a few challenges as far as packaging is concerned...Im planning on fitting an electric heater matrix from a MK6 polo, hiding all the wiring, rerouting the PAS reservoir,wiper linkage plus a load of other things I cant think of at the minute

I have a few tricks up my sleeve with regards to engine bay cleaning <cough>MR2 PAS pump</cough> swapsies?

Thanks mate, the wheels are MAM MT7's not really anything special as far as wheels go, but I like them and their different...I havent seen another set on any make of car.

Thanks chap, I looked into the MR2 setup aswell as the new Mini electric pump aswell...benefits neater packaging,less engine load etc... I might swap over to a different setup when ive done a bit more research but for now Ill stick to the standard stuff.

Ive yet to sort the heater out but Ill keep you posted on progress

Hmmm, I quite like the mk6 polo heater matrix idea too. Will tidy the bay up somewhat, and no more leaky matrices! Will it need a different way to control the heat? I'd expect that you wouldn't want the heating element on full chat all the time, with just the normal air distribution control.

Ill just adjust the voltage to it with a pot attached to the heat control, to be honest Im not 100% sure I can make it work yet...the theory is right but I dont even know if itll fit in the heater box

Theres loads to update just havent had the time to do a write up Itll be a Ultimate Dubs next weekend if anyones going...it wont be as finished as Id hoped,the guy who owns the paint shop has had a death in the family so I cant get in to paint some of the stuff but his family is more importanat than my car...

Ill get the pics and write up done after the show...

The current news is its all back together and driveable and the MOT's booked for Thursday, just need to fit the interior before the weekend.

Blimey, I had no idea you were doing all that in the engine bay! Looks great.

Electric heater matrix sounds good, although with a VRT, believe me.... the standard matrix is brilliant additional rad when stuck in traffic.

Wouldn't bother with alternative PAS systems imo. The standard setup is very reliable.

Electric pumps = just as much load on the engine. You should see the headlights dim on my missus's Polo MK7 on full lock

Steering column motors = Unreliable!

Ive got the chassis and engine bay sorted,got a few body bits to sort then its turbo time!

The show was great had a few issues with the car but nothing that cant be sorted, it got me there and it was interesting hearing some of the comments on it...

After the mad rush to get the car ready for UD's (Big thanks to SensibleDave for the help) I thought Id do a quick update of the work thats been done on the car...

Chassis
Ive fitted 312's on the front
Reconed rear beam with standard bushes
Designed and made brackets etc to fit 280mm vented rears on the back

Fitted the rear anti roll bar
Goodridge hoses all round
Fitted Wilwood brake bias valve to get rid of the seized up standard one
New handbrake cables

Engine
Running a spacer plate and short runner intake in preperation for the turbo so its rather slow
OBD2 setup on
Header take deleted just running a filler in the top hoses

Bodywork
Front wings, slam panel and bonnet still to do ( due to a death in the paint shop guys family)
Servo painted up
